THE COUNCIL OF BLACK BELTS
"KURO-OBI-KAI"

The KURO-OBI-KAI is comprised of K.I.S.A. members who are accredited Black Belts with Shodan (First Dan) to Sandan (Third Dan) Degrees. Their aim is to exchange opinions and discuss technical problems regarding the practice of Karate-do Shotokai plus examine the internal activities carried out by K.I.S.A. and then report back to the Shihan-Kai.
The KURO-OBI-KAI convenes at the Black Belt Seminars held during the International Summer Competition.
The KURO-OBI-KAI nominates two representatives who act as spokespeople for the SHIHAN-KAI and chair KURO-OBI-KAI meetings. Two different representatives can be selected every time the council meets.
