TECHNICAL EXAMINATION PROGRAMME
The following “Technical Examination Programme” has been proposed for information only. It is neither exhaustive nor definitive. Taking into consideration the concept below quoted:
“The karate-do is an everlasting and uncompleted path, it must evolve and progress with no limits thanks to all the adepts’ efforts”
Shigeru Egami
All member’s enrolled by the K.I.S.A. can take an examination. They must regularly follow the teaching of a K.I.S.A. Master who will ask him to enroll to the examination.
The particular cases will be valued preventively by the K.I.S.A.’s Board of Examiners.
All students that have acquired a grade of DAN out of the K.I.S.A., will have to get that grade confirmed in front of the K.I.S.A.’s Board of Examiners.
The candidate will refrain from asking any superficial question, or from making any comment during the examination. He will show himself with humility and correct manners. The first bow will be addressed to the K.I.S.A.’s Board of Examiners, then the candidate will bow in front of the dojo and/or his/her partner. At the end of the exam, these two bows are reversed. All candidates, while waiting, will have to keep a respectful attitude in Seiza or Agura sitting position.
Each technique and each group of techniques , will be preceded by a reasonable time of concentration. The movements will never be executed in a mechanical way.
All techniques will be executed with the greatest fluidity and amplitude. The students will pay attention not to take nimbleness for softness and sincerity for aggressiveness.
It is the search to guess the partner’s movement, to anticipate rather than to react, this is fundamental and it is required at any level.
Each technique must end off with a maximal expansion: a feeling of harmony and of strength must be conveyed by “large” and natural movements. Each kata’s appropriate rhythm will be respected avoiding contraction and block of the body.
All the techniques with each group of technique’s, will be requested for every studied kata in order to get the applied grade.
